Stumble Upon & Sendside's Paperless Communications
Stumble Upon appears to have found Sendside.
In looking at traffic analytics around Sendside's website I came across a traffic spike to our page on environmentally friendly paperless communications that allow businesses to be environmentally friendly by reducing paper waste, transportation costs and deforrestation while saving money at the same time.
It appears that the Stumble Upon community is in agreement.
in the last week or so there's been a tremendous increase in the traffic to that specific web page arriving through Stumble Upon as you can see by the badge we installed (along with Twitter and Facebook) to allow visitors to share the page with their social network. So what are these people responding to?
Paper mail is environmental gluttony:
- 60% of landfill waste is paper.
- 100 million trees are felled to produce junk mail each year – that’s the equivalent of deforesting the Rocky Mountain National Park every four months.
- 250,000 homes could be heated with one day's supply of junk mail.
- The yearly production and disposal of junk mail consumes more energy than 3 million cars.
Environmentally friendly consumers are getting the message, there's a better way than having trees cut down and mailed.
Of course, in this case it makes finacial sense for businesses as well. A large bank or credit union can easily be spending millions of dollars just in postage each year. Sendside could easily cut all of those hard costs and time lag by 90% or more.
